Barcelona sited between the sea and the mountains, has found a formidable balance: a foot in the traditional things and the other in the avant-garde. Barcelona has the reputation of being the most cosmopolitan, modern and avant-garde city in Spain and it has renewed for the 1992 Olympic Games. It's the perfect city to relax, stroll around and enjoy its unique way of life.

Barcelona offers so much to the cultural visitor, there is so much to see, something new and interesting awaits around every corner: Gothic architecture, the famous Las Ramblas avenue, Gaudi's Güel Parc and the unfinished La Sagrada Cathedral or the old Raval quarter. The city also has a wide range of parks, several walking streets in the old part of the city, and numerous attractions to visit.

Getting around Barcelona is easy. You can pretty much walk around the whole city. They also have a daily rent-a-bike system and the Metro is very good and simple to use.
